APPSC Horticulture Officer Syllabus 2026: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission APPSC has released the Scheme and Syllabus for the Horticulture Officer in A.P. Horticulture Service under Notification No. 19/2026. The recruitment will be conducted through a single-level objective-type examination in CBRT mode. The written examination consists of a qualifying test in General English and General Telugu and three papers covering General Studies & Mental Ability, Horticulture-I and Horticulture-II. The main examination carries 450 marks, with 1/3rd negative marking for wrong answers.

The Qualifying Test contains General English – 50 marks and General Telugu – 50 marks. Candidates have to qualify in English and Telugu individually. The qualifying test is of SSC standard. There is 1/3rd negative marking for each wrong answer.

Major topics in Horticulture-I include:
Fruit Crops
Mango, banana, citrus, grape, pineapple, guava, papaya and sapota, including cultivation, varieties, planting, training, pruning, nutrition, irrigation, harvesting, post-harvest handling and physiological disorders.
Vegetable Crops
Major vegetable crops including tomato, brinjal, chillies, potato, okra, cucurbits, melons, legumes, cole crops, root crops, bulb crops, tuber crops and leafy vegetables.
Floriculture and Landscape Gardening
Commercial flower crops, ornamental gardening, landscape architecture, garden designs, indoor plants, flower arrangements and bonsai.
Medicinal, Aromatic, Spice and Plantation Crops
Important medicinal and aromatic plants, spices and plantation crops, including production, harvesting, processing and storage.
Other Horticulture-I Topics
Dryland Horticulture and Watershed Management, Post-Harvest Management, Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables, Farm Power and Machinery, and Greenhouse Management of Horticultural Crops.

APPSC Horticulture Officer Qualifying Test Syllabus
The qualifying test is based on SSC standard General English and General Telugu.
General English: Comprehension, usage and idioms, vocabulary and punctuation, and logical rearrangement of sentences.
General Telugu: Synonyms and vocabulary, grammar, Telugu-to-English meanings and English-to-Telugu meanings.
APPSC Horticulture Officer Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
The notification also provides a Computer Proficiency Test scheme. The CPT is a practical test of 100 marks with 60 minutes duration covering proficiency in Office Automation and associated computer software. Minimum qualifying marks are 30 for SC/ST, 35 for BCs and 40 for OC candidates.
The CPT syllabus includes basic computers, operating systems, Windows, Linux/Mac OS, Internet, e-mail, WWW, office applications, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
