APPSC Assistant Environmental Engineer AEE Syllabus 2026: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released the Assistant Environmental Engineer syllabus for recruitment to the post of AEE in the A.P. Pollution Control Board. The APPSC AEE examination is a single-level Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) consisting of Paper-I General Studies & Mental Ability and Paper-II Common Subject. The written examination carries 450 marks, with 1/3 negative marking for each wrong answer. The notification also provides a separate Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) scheme and syllabus.
APPSC AEE Exam Pattern 2026
The written examination is an objective-type, degree-standard examination. Paper-I and Paper-II each contain 150 questions and are conducted for 150 minutes. Paper-II carries 300 marks, while Paper-I carries 150 marks.

The General Studies and Mental Ability syllabus includes:

APPSC AEE Paper-II Syllabus – Environmental Engineering Topics
The Common Subject paper covers the following major areas:
- Ecosystems – Structure and functions, food chains and webs, ecological pyramids, energy flow, biogeochemical cycles and ecosystem services.
- Natural Resources – Water, mineral, land, forest and energy resources, including renewable and non-renewable sources.
- Biodiversity and Biotic Resources – Biodiversity values, hotspots, threats, conservation and the National Biodiversity Act.
- Engineering Materials – Properties of engineering materials, phase diagrams, heat treatment and stress-strain diagrams.

- Air, Water, Soil and Noise Pollution Control – Pollution sources, effects, standards and major air and wastewater treatment technologies.
- Solid and Industrial Waste Management – Municipal solid waste, collection, segregation, transportation, e-waste and bioremediation.
- Global Environmental Problems, Policies and Legislations – Climate change, ozone depletion, international protocols and Indian environmental laws.
- Environmental Impact Assessment Towards Sustainable Future – EIA, baseline data, environmental impacts, risk assessment, EMP, sustainable development, green buildings and life-cycle assessment.
APPSC AEE Computer Proficiency Test Syllabus
The notification also includes a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The practical test is for 100 marks with a duration of 60 minutes. Candidates are assessed on computer and office automation skills.
The CPT syllabus covers basic computers, computer software, operating systems, Windows, Linux/Mac OS basics, internet, email, WWW, office applications, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
