GATE 2026 Exam
Date, Admit Card: IIT Kanpur has released admit card for the GATE 2026
exam. Candidates who applied for the GATE 2026 they can download the admit card
and check the details. Official website to download the GATE 2026 admit card is
gate.iitk.ac.in. GATE 2026 exam will be conducted for 100 marks. Mode of exam
is Computer Based. GATE 2026 Exam response sheets will be available from
15-02-2025 and Answer Keys available on 21-02-2025. Along with admit card/ hall
ticket you need to carry the original id proof to attend the GATE Exam 2026.

GATE 2026 Admit
Card:
The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) admit card
is a document that is issued to candidates who are eligible to appear for the
GATE exam. It contains important information such as the candidate’s name,
photograph, exam date, time, and location. The admit card is an important
document and must be carried to the exam center on the day of the exam, along
with a valid photo ID. It is generally released a few weeks before the exam
date on the official GATE website. To download the admit card, candidates need
to log in to the website using their enrollment ID and password. It is
advisable to download the admit card as soon as it is released and to check all
the details mentioned on it carefully to ensure there are no errors.

GATE 2026 Exam Pattern:
The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam is a
standardized test that is conducted annually for admission to postgraduate
engineering programs at institutes of national importance in India, such as the
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT),
and Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The exam is conducted in an online
(computer-based) format and is held for a total of 23 subjects, known as
“papers.”

The GATE exam consists of two parts:
Part 1-A general aptitude section that consists of two
parts:
Verbal Ability: This section tests a candidate’s ability to
understand and comprehend written English. It consists of questions on grammar,
vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Numerical Ability: This section tests a candidate’s ability
to solve numerical problems and reason mathematically. It consists of questions
on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation.
Part 2-A technical section that consists of questions
specific to the chosen paper.
The exam duration is 3 hours and it consists of a total of
65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The questions in the GATE exam are
of multiple-choice and numerical answer type. The multiple-choice questions
have four options, out of which only one option is correct. The numerical
answer type questions have a numerical answer, which needs to be entered using
the virtual keyboard on the computer screen.
It is important to note that the GATE exam is a competitive
exam and the marks scored by a candidate are used for the purpose of short listing
candidates for admission to postgraduate engineering programs and for
fellowships awarded by the Ministry of Education.
