TNPSC Assistant Engineer Jobs CESE Exam 2026:Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission released a latest notification for conducting the Combined Engineering Services Exam CESE 2026 for recruiting the available vacancies of Automobile Engineer, Junior Electrical Inspector, Assistant Engineer Agriculture, Assistant Engineer Civil, AE Mechanical. As on 01-07-2025 For BCs, BCMs, SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs and Destitute Widows of all Castes there is no age limit. For all other upper age limit is 30 years.

Candidate must have qualified B.E/B.Tech Engineering in respective stream which he/she going to apply.

 

Candidates will be selected through objective type written combined engineering services exam only. Further an interview will be conducted for CESE Exam qualified persons.

Written Exam-500 Marks

Interview and records-70 Marks

 

CESE written exam will be conducted for 500 marks and consist of two papers.

Paper 1 will be academic subject-300 Marks

Paper 2 will be General Studies-200 Marks

 

Paper 1 Consists of 200 questions and exam duration is 3 hours

TNPSC CESE Paper 1 Exam Syllabuswill be Degree level only.

Candidate have to select the any one of the below given papers

(i) Agricultural Engineering

(ii) Automobile Engineering

(iii) Chemical Engineering

(iv) Civil Engineering

(v) Electrical Engineering

(vi) Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering

(vii) Textile Technology

 

TNPSC CESE Paper 2 Exam syllabuswill be degree standard only. CESE Paper 2 Exam duration is 2 hours and 200 questions will be given.

Topics in paper 2 is

a) General Studies(Degree Standard)-75 Questions (Degree level)

b) Aptitude and Mental Ability-25 Questions (SSLC level)
