Eligibility Conditions – TGSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026

Gender:

• Both Men and Women are eligible to apply.

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025):

• Minimum Age: 22 years

• Maximum Age: 35 years

• Telangana Government has given an additional 12 years age relaxation vide GO Ms No. 30 dated 08-02-2025.

Relaxations in Upper Age Limit:

• SCs, STs, BCs, EWS: 5 years

• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years + length of service in Armed Forces

Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed SSC / 10th Class or its equivalent examination recognized by the State Government as on 1st July 2026.

Driving Licence:

• Must possess a valid Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle (HPMV) and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) / Transport Vehicle Licence continuously for at least 18 months as on notification date (17th September 2026).

Selection Process – TGSRTC Driver Notification 2026

1. Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

• Height should not be less than 160 cm.

• Candidates who qualify in PMT will be called for Certificate Verification.

2. Driving Test (60 Marks):

Candidates will be tested on 7 parameters:

1. Starting a vehicle from rest on level/up/down gradient – 6 Marks (Qualifying 3)

2. Gear changing up – 8 Marks (Qualifying 4)

3. Gear changing down – 8 Marks (Qualifying 4)

4. Road sense, general driving, control of vehicle, anticipation & judgment – 16 Marks (Qualifying 8)

5. Use of brakes – 6 Marks (Qualifying 3)

6. Stopping, parking, reversing – 8 Marks (Qualifying 4)

7. Following traffic signals / road police signals – 8 Marks (Qualifying 4)

• Total: 60 Marks

• Must secure at least 30 Marks in total, and not fail in more than 2 parameters.

3. Weightage Marks (40 Marks):

• Based on Educational Qualification and Driving Licence Experience.

4. Final Selection:

• Based on aggregate score of Driving Test (60 Marks) + Weightage (40 Marks) = 100 Marks.

• Minimum qualifying marks:

  • OC/EWS: 50%

  • BC: 45%

  • SC/ST: 40%
