invites applications for various posts in Infantry Battalion, Home & Hearth
Battalions, Ikhwan Battalion, and Engineer Regiment. There are total 1901
Soldier GD, Clerk, Tradesman vacancies in this Indian Territorial Army Northern
Command Recruitment 2026. TA Recruitment Rally will take place across several
locations from 08 November to 27 November 2026. Candidates are selected
purely on merit through a transparent process of Physical Standards Tests, Physical
efficiency Tests, Medical Tests and written test.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age:
  18 years
• Maximum Age:
  42 years (as of the recruitment date)

 

Educational
Qualifications

• Soldier (General Duty): 10th/Matric pass with 45% aggregate and 33% in each
  subject.
• Clerk:
  10+2 in any stream with at least 60% aggregate and 50% in each subject.
  English and Maths/Bookkeeping/Accounts in Class 12th with a minimum of
  50%.
• Tradesmen:
  Minimum 10th pass with 33% in each subject (8th pass for House Keeper and
  Mess Keeper).

 

Selection Process

1. Physical Standards Test:
• Height:
  160 cm (157 cm for certain regions and communities)
• Chest:
  82 cm expanded (77 cm unexpanded)
• Weight:
  Proportionate to height and age as per Army standards
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
• 1 Mile Run:
• 18-30 years: Under 5 min 30
  sec (60 marks)
• 31-42 years: Under 6 min 15
  sec (60 marks)
• Pull-Ups:
• 10 and above (40 marks for
  ages 18-30)
• Balance & 9 ft Ditch: Qualifying test with no marks
3. Written Examination:
   Qualifying candidates undergo a written test, based on 10th/8th class
   standards, covering:
• General Knowledge, Science, and Elementary Maths for
  Soldiers and Tradesmen
• Clerical knowledge, Computer Science, English, and
  Maths for Clerks

 

How to Apply

Candidates should report to the
designated recruitment locations on the specified date for their area,
carrying:

• Original and photocopies of certificates (Birth,
  Education, Domicile, etc.)
• Passport-size photos (20 copies)
• Government-issued photo ID (PAN/Aadhaar)
