SBI posts: 12,000 jobs in SBI 85% of engineering students
Mumbai: The State Bank of India (SBI) has good news for engineering students. At a time when hiring in the IT sector has slowed down. It showed an alternative to freshers. It also announced that it will hire 12,000 freshers in the current financial year. The bank’s chairman Dinesh Khara said 85 per cent of the students will be offered to engineering graduates. Around 3,000 POs and 8,000 associates will be trained in banking matters and then employed in various business departments.
Khara said that unlike in the past, there has been an increase in the dependence on technology in the banking sector as well. We need to focus on how to serve our customers based on technology. It is in this regard that some banks are facing challenges. those who are trained. They will be assigned various business and IT responsibilities depending on their talents, he said. This will enable the banking sector to provide adequate level of tech manpower. There will be no discrimination in the matter of responsibilities.
SBI staff are being trained at the Inhouse Institute in terms of technology, which is costing a large amount of money, he said. “Every citizen needs to adopt technology. Now that most of the transactions are done on the basis of technology, no one can ignore it,” he said. There are also adequate guidelines from rbi which is the regulator in this regard. The RBI, on the other hand, is already focusing on technical aspects. In this regard, if any bank finds faults, a hefty penalty will be imposed.
