IAF Commissioned Officers Recruitment AFCAT -1/2026 Exam Syllabus: Online Application forms are invited by Indian Air Force for the courses for the grant of SSC in Flying branch (Short Service Commission), SSC/PC (Permanent Commission) in Ground Duty Technical branch and Ground Duty (Non Technical) branch. 304 vacancies are in this AFCAT 01/2026 notification. Mode of Application is Online. Registration of Online Application process will open from 10-11-2025 at http://afcat.cdac.in/afcatreg/signin. Registration of Online Applicationprocess will close on 09-12-2025. EKT and AFCAT/NCC/Meteorology Entry-2026 Exam will be conducted in the month of August-2026. Selection Process for Flying, Ground Duty (Technical, Non-technical) Commissioned Officers Recruitment:
1. It will be through AFCAT-01/2026, EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test)-2524 which will be conducted in Jan, 2026.
2. AFCAT-Jan 2026 will be of 2 hours duration with objective type questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, military aptitude and General Awareness.
3. EKT– Jan 2026 would be for 45 minutes and it will be held immediately after AFCAT- Jan 2026.
4. Short listed candidates of AFCAT- Jan 2026 will be called for another test at Mysore or Dehradun or Varanasi or Gandhinagar or Kanchrapara. For Flying branch, test will be conducted in Mysore, Varanasi and Dehradun only.
5. This test consists of 3 stages.
a) Stage I: It is a screening test and those who qualify will go for subsequent tests.
1. Officer Intelligence rating Test.
2. Picture perception and Discussion Test.
b) Stage II: It consists Psychological, group test, interview.
c) For Flying branch: CPSS would be Administrated for eligible candidates which is a Computerized Pilot Selection System.
AFCAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus:
AFCAT Question Paper Consists of 100 Questions and each question carries 3 marks.
AFCAT Exam Syllabus:
(a) General Awareness– History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc. (b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary. (c) Numerical Ability– Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest. (d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test– Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
