IBPS Clerks Recruitment Prelims and Mains Exam Syllabus and Pattern: IBPS clerk exam is one of the most popular exam in India. For every year lakhs of aspirants writing this exam. Responsibilities of Clerk posts like cashier, teller, loans disbursement, recovery, customer relationship executive, marketing and sales etc. While comparing with IBPS PO’s exam IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus is very less.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will conduct common written exam for every year. From the year 2015 onwards IBPS changed the exam pattern. IBPS Clerk exam will be conducted for 300 marks in two stages. In first stage there is a 100 marks exam which is called as Preliminary Examination. And second stage main exam will be conducted for 200 marks. Who are qualified for Preliminary examination they only eligible to write Main Examination. IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus is same for new pattern.
IBPS Clerk preliminary exam will be 100 Marks. English language for 30 marks, Numerical ability for 35 marks and Reasoning ability for 35 marks. Total time duration for this exam is one hour.

IBPS Clerk main exam for 200 marks which consist of Reasoning for 40 marks, English Language for 40 marks, Quantitative Aptitude for 40 marks, general awareness with special reference to banking industry for 40 marks and computer knowledge for 40 marks with the total time of 160 Minutes. For Each section there is a separate timing. It means candidate have to finish the particular section in given time only.

This is very important section in IBPS Clerk Exam and easily scoring part. Topics covered in English Language are homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, word formation, sentence completion, phrases and idioms, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech, paragraph arrangement, spelling, sentence and grammar.
This Quantitative Ability section fully based on concepts of arithmetic and data interpretation. Such as Information Interpretation – visual diagrams, pie out lines, line charts and classification. Number Crunching (Arithmetic)- roots, average, ratio, time & work, time & distance, rate of interest, simple and compound interest, profit & loss, mixture, stocks & shares, partnership, clocks, volume & surface area, permutations and combinations, equations, linear in equations, probability and random variables.
This Reasoning Ability section covers all logical reasoning type of questions such as forming judgments, conclusions from premises or facts. Reasoning is based on Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning.
Verbal Reasoning consists of Analogy, Odd Man out, Syllogism, word formation, statement and conclusions, statement and assumptions, statement and arguments, Decision Making, Assertion and reasoning, Figure series, Direction sense test, Number, ranking and time sequence, Passage and conclusions, coding and decoding, Blood relations, Alphabet test and series test etc.
Non Verbal Reasoning topics are Series test, Odd figures, Miscellaneous test etc.
General Awarenessis all about the current affairs and specially reference to banking industry. And some topics from sports, Indian Economy, International Economy, Awards & Honors, Marketing trends, RBI policies, Finance, Agriculture, Banking terminology, past 6 months banking industry current affairs, currencies of countries, book related to banking and their authors etc.
This Computer Awareness section covers two parts such as hardware and software. Concepts of DBMS, MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Windows, Internet concepts, Basic networking concepts and introduction of computers with generations etc.
