TS Group-2 Exam Update: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has informed the Telangana High Court that it will take a decision on August 14 on the pleas seeking postponement of the Group-II examination in the state. The commission explained that arrangements have already been made for conducting the exam. Justice P Madhavi Devi was hearing a petition filed by 150 candidates seeking postponement of the Group-II examination scheduled to be held on August 29 and 30. Advocates Giridhar Rao and Narsingh, appearing for the petitioners, told the court that there were 21 competitive examinations with different syllabus, including Group-II, in the month of August. “Group-I and Group-II exams are very important. In June, aspirants had submitted a memorandum to postpone the Group-II exam. TSPSC did not respond. The commission is not acting in such a way that the main objective of conducting the recruitment exam is fulfilled,” he told the court.
5.5 lakh people have applied for the Group-2 Exam
TSPSC’s counsel Ramgopal Rao told the court that all the arrangements for the Group-II exam have been completed. A total of 1535 examination centres have been set up across the state. The government has also declared holidays for those centres. Five and a half lakh people have applied for Group-II. Of these, around 60000 candidates are appearing for gurukul exams.
The petition was filed by 150 people
Hearing the arguments, the bench responded. Even if there are a few candidates who are appearing for gurukul exams, they should also have a chance,” it said. According to the TSPSC, only 150 of the lakhs of applicants have filed the petition. The judge remarked that not everyone can come to the court. The commission’s counsel said that a decision on the request of the candidates to postpone the Group-II examination will be announced by August 2. The judge ordered that the 16th should be mentioned as many people were eagerly waiting for it.
