Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has taken a crucial decision in the wake of the question paper leakage issue. Along with Group 1 prelims exam, AEE and DAO exams have been cancelled. The canceled Group-1 prelims exam has been decided to be held on June 11 this year. A statement said that the dates of the remaining exams will be announced soon. TSPSC said that it has decided to cancel these exams also based on the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) due to the recent Assistant Engineer (AE) paper leakage. Group-1 prelims exam was conducted on October 16 last year. AEE and DAO exams were conducted on 22nd January and 26th February this year. Apart from this, there is information that TSPSC is planning to postpone more exams to be conducted soon.
The TSPSC officials have already announced that the Assistant Engineer (AE) exam held on March 5 has been canceled after finding that only the AE question paper was leaked. However, the SIT officials suspected that the pen drive near Praveen had AE question paper as well as question papers related to Town Planning, Veterinary Assistant and Ground Water Department examination. As a result, the SIT officials seized the cell phone and the pen drive from Praveen and sent it to FSL. It seems that the FSL officials who analyzed them found some more question papers in Praveen's pen drive. However, as the case is currently under investigation, neither the TSPSC officials nor the CIT officials have given any explanation. Meanwhile, TSPSC has recently announced that they are canceling the Group-1 Prelims, AEE and DAO exams. As a result of this, the examination which had been written hard for months was cancelled, and there was concern among the unemployed.
It is noteworthy that this is the first notification issued for the filling of 503 Group-1 posts after the formation of Telangana as a separate state. Group I Preliminary examination was conducted on October 16 last year for 503 posts belonging to 19 departments while 3,80,202 candidates have applied for this exam 3.42 lakhs have downloaded the hall tickets. 2.86 lakh people wrote this examination which was held in 1,019 centers across the state. After that TSPSC also finalized the dates of Group I Mains Exam.
It was previously announced that the mains will be held from June 5 to 12 this year. 25050 of those who appeared in the Group 1 Prelims exam qualified exam qualified for Mains. The whole situations changed suddenly when the paper leakage case caused a stir. TSPSC has announced in a recent statement that it has been decided to conduct the canceled Group 1 Prelims Exam on June 11.
