For Stenographer Grade II-Must have qualified Degree from a recognized university with Diploma/ITI or its equivalent Certification in Shorthand/Stenography and should have known the Assamese language.

 

For Stenographer Grade III-HSC qualification with Diploma/ITI or its equivalent certificate Stenography/Shorthand and should know the local language of Assamese.

For Attender jobs-Minimum 8th standard pass is required

Exam Pattern and Syllabus for GHC Stenographer Jobs:

B. Selection Process for Stenographer Grade-II:

Stage	Description	Marks/ Duration
Stage 1	Written Exam Pattern and Syllabus	70 Marks 11/2 hour
	The Selection test will consist of a written test of objective type (OMR based) on English Language Proficiency (50 marks) and Of Language of the State of Assam (Assamese) (20 marks) of 11/2 hour duration. Candidates either equal to 15 times the number of vacancies (1: 15) or those securing 30% and above marks in the English Language segment, to be decided by the High Court at an appropriate time, shall be called for Stenography test, The Assamese Language segment will          be of qualifying nature and candidates securing at least 40% marks in the Assamese Language segment shall be treated as qualified.
Stage 2	Stenography Test Pattern
	(i) Voice test before dictation	2 Minutes
	(ii) Speed Test in shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute (Duration 7 minutes) [700 words)	100 Marks
	(iii) Time to be given to the candidates for testing the computer	3 Minutes
	(iv) Time for transcription of the dictated portion in computer	25 Minutes
Stage 3	Viva-voce	10 Marks
	Candidate equal to 3 times of the number of vacancies (1:3) in order of merit in the Stenography Test will be called for viva- voce. The final merit position will be determined on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Stenography Test and Viva-voce.

 

Note: In case of candidates obtaining equal marks (in the stenography test and viva-voce), one who obtains more marks in the Stenography test will be given preference. Where the marks obtained by such candidates in the Stenography test are also same, the candidate who is senior in age will be given preference,

The Gauhati High Court reserves the right to fix/alter the cut off marks in the Written Test and Stenography Test.

 

Pay Scale for GHC Stenographers vacancy Recruitment: 

For Stenographer Grade II Rs.22000-87000 with GP of Rs.9100/-

For Stenographer Grade III,  Jr Administrative Asst, Library Assistant Jobs Rs.14000-49000 with GP of 7000/-

For Attender, Cook, Duftry jobs Rs.12000-Rs.37500/- with GP of Rs.3900/-
