DRFO Exam Syllabus and Pattern of Karnataka Forest Department Jobs:
Separate syllabus will be given for the B.Sc Forestry and B.Sc Graduates.
Exam Pattern for Deputy Range Forest Officer Jobs Recruitment 2017:
For deputy Range Forest Officer Written test will be conducted for 100 Marks and exam will be objective type multiple choice questions.
The paper will be divided into 3 sections.
Part A consist of 30 Marks (For BSC Forestry and BSC)
Part B consist of 45 Marks (Separate syllabus for BSc Forestry and BSC candidates)
Part C consist of 25 Marks (For BSC Forestry and BSC)
For BSC Forestry and BSC Students Part A and Part C Syllabus is same. Part B syllabus will be different.
Exam Syllabus for Deputy Range Forest Officer Jobs in Karnataka PSC Forest Department Recruitment:
Part A consists of 4 sections and having 30 questions each question carries one mark.
1. Numerical Ability-10 Marks
DRFO Exam Syllabus for Numerical Ability:
Number systems, menstruation, partnership, averages, geometry, percentages, heights and distances, profit and loss, trigonometry, simple and compound interest, algebra, sequences, indices, speed and distance, ratio and proportion, time and work.
2. Verbal and Non Verbal Ability-05 Marks
Deputy Range Forest Officer Numerical Ability Exam Syllabus:
à Letters and words as symbols
à Analysis relationship between groups of letters or words
à Completing series
à Order of letters
à Word analogy
à Finding odd man out
à Coding and decoding based on illustrated principles
à Shapes and patterns
à Arranging shapes

3. Logical and Analytical Reasoning-10 Marks
DRFO Exam Syllabus for Logical and Analytical Reasoning:
Application of logic and making judgments in given situations. General reasoning and determination of the validity of an inference from a statement based on some given parameters.
4. Statistics-05 Marks
Statistics Syllabus for DRFO Karnataka Forest Department:
Elementary statistics such as median, mean, mode, making deductions from pie and bar charts, figures, graphs and tables.
Part B consists of 45 questions each question carries one mark.
For BSC Forestry completed students exam syllabuswill be academic syllabus of which he/she is studied in BSC degree level.
For BSC Graduates based on their academic streams two sections will be given in exam paper.
Candidates have to attend the any one section only.
Section-A: Fundamentals of pure sciences: viz. Physics and Chemistry and their application in day to day life. – B.Sc. Degree level”.
Section-B: “Fundamentals of life sciences viz. Botany, Zoology and environment science and their application in day to day life. – B.Sc. Degree level”.
Part C consists of 5 sections and having 25 questions each question carries one mark.
1. Current events-5 Marks
Syllabus for Current Events:
National and international events, Awards, Important dates, personalities (both Indian and International) in news, including sports events, Oscar, Film fare Awards etc.
2. History of India-5 Marks
Deputy Range Forest Officer Recruitment Exam Syllabus:
Ancient, medieval, Indian national movement, social, economic and political aspects, nature and character of the 19th century resurgence, growth of nationalism and attainment of independence
3. Indian Polity-5 Marks
Syllabus for Indian Polity:
The country’s political system and Constitution of India, covering broadly its frame work, main features, different organs of Government and their functioning at the Centre, State and local levels including Panchayath Raj institutions. Fundamental rights, Fundamental duties and Directive principles of state policy, Functioning of Indian democracy and elections.
4. Indian and World Geography-5 Marks

5. Indian Economy-5 Marks

Economic developments in India, features and sectors of Indian economy, basic foundation of the economy, markets and State controls, process of planning and five year plans, process of liberalization and globalization, inflation, poverty and unemployment.
