Amravati: AP Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has announced the cancellation of class 10 and inter-examinations in Andhra Pradesh, he said at a media conference in Vijayawada. “The Supreme court has said that inter-results should be disclosed before July 31. Conducting and evaluating inter-examinations takes 45 days.
According to the Supreme Court decision, conducting examinations is impossible. We will soon tell you the manner in which the marks should be given. We will set up a high power committee for results. There is no lack of decision from the AP government. We have taken a decision to cancel the examinations so that students do not lose out,” the minister said.
Supreme Court Says Students Safety is Most Important:
The Supreme court this morning raised several questions on the affidavit filed by the AP government on the conduct of class 10 and inter-examinations. The affidavit stated that it was nowhere to be found in the affidavit even though it was ordered to give the exact information regarding the conduct of the examinations in AP.
It said that the ap government should not be thinking of conducting examinations but also from the point of view of protection of staff and students. Even if one dies. It warned that Rs.1 crore compensation would have to be given.
It commented that our decisions should guide future generations. The details of the rooms where the examinations are conducted are also nowhere in the affidavit.
No Proper Planning for Exams:
According to the government’s calculations, about 28,000 rooms are required. Supreme Court asked how it was possible for 15 to 20 people to sit in each room in Covid Situation. Supreme Court asked AP Government Lawyer how 15 days in advance time was enough to conduct the exams. We’ve seen what happened in the second phase. Considering the Supreme Court’s suggestions, the state government finally announced the cancellation of class X and inter-examinations.
